About Us
The MABAS Division 7 / Kankakee Valley Fire Chief’s Association is composed of 17 fire departments and 21 associate members. Located primarily in Kankakee County, MABAS Division 7 provides emergency response coverage to a vast area approximately 50 miles south of Chicago, Illinois. MABAS Division 7 is dispatched by KanComm dispatch center out of Kankakee, Illinois.
The fire departments associated with MABAS Division 7 provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue, and specialized response teams that allow the Division to mitigate a wide range of emergencies within its jurisdiction. Among the specialized response teams available are: hazardous materials, technical rescue, and fire investigation.

MABAS 7 Incident Command Van
The MABAS 7 Incident Command Van (ICV) is deployed throughout Kankakee County for major emergencies that require multi-jurisdictional response and coordination. Equipped with thermal imaging, communications equipment, and a conference area, this asset is critical to the management of long-term emergency responses.
MABAS 7 UTV
The MABAS 7 Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) is an agile, multipurpose apparatus that is deployed throughout Kankakee County for fire suppression, emergency medical services, and limited access responses.
HAZMAT 7 & Trailer 7A
HAZMAT 7 & Trailer 7A deploy throughout Kankakee County for the initial response of the MABAS Division 7 Hazardous Materials Response Team to emergencies requiring spill mitigation.
HAZMAT Trailer 7
HAZMAT Trailer 7 deploys throughout Kankakee County for extended operations of the MABAS Division 7 Hazardous Materials Response Team, including: anhydrous ammonia leaks, fuel tanker spills, and a wide range of other complex HAZMAT incidents.
